I started this website to feature topics that impact my life in various ways. The topics are not only on migraine but also a healthy, happy lifestyle. I’ve written my migraine story so many times in so many ways. It always turns into a therapeutic journaling session, which is a release for me, but not indicative of my true, almost 20-year chronic migraine story. The truth is, my story is simple: migraine is a major part of my life; it’s not all that I am. My intention is to illustrate how migraineurs can live a full life…with a few modifications.
My professional background is in marketing and business development. I’ve held influential positions at large, global companies. I’ve also run a small business. I have a bachelor and master of business administration, and I’ve taught management and entrepreneurship courses at the collegiate level. To get more info on my career, check out the career lattice.
I have a loving family and an extremely supportive husband. He encourages me to follow my dreams and understands sometimes dreams have to wait for me to recover from a migraine, nagging headache, vertigo, or plain exhaustion from the day-to-day stress of managing a chronic illness.
I love to travel, try new things, and volunteer. Most recently, I volunteered in the township of Vryground in Cape Town, South Africa. There, I created a business plan and financing strategy for an education center for underprivileged children that was in desperate need of funding. It was one of the best experiences of my life. That is when I uncovered my deep passion for helping others.
Now, I use my spare time to help others navigate the ups and downs of chronic disease. This stems from my own experience with migraine. You’ll find this site is deeply rooted in my own health journey, but it’s not just about that. Migraine is only a piece of my story.
